- Allen Meadows -There is a still a discreet touch of wood framing and overtly spicy truffle-infused yet elegant dark berry and mineral-infused nose that is still quite primary. The cool but rich and generous palate saturating flavors are really quite refined while wrapped in a driving finish of almost pungent minerality. The dry extract pushes the firm tannins to the background on the hugely long and velvety yet intensely mineral finale. This is a seriously impressive wine but note well that it's a very long way from peaking and another 12 years to 15 years will be required in this large format bottling.
