- Allen Meadows -It had been 21 years since my last encounter with this wine and time has been relatively good to it with its expressive nose that offers up notes of spice, truffle, sous-bois and plenty of earth, leather and game nuances. The vibrant and intense middle weight flavors exude evident minerality while displaying good delineation on the powerful, mildly rustic and still firm finish. This offers fine complexity though it's definitely not going to win any kudos for refinement though with that said, the robust constitution should allow it to continue to hold for years.
