- Allen Meadows -There is a hint of green tea to the cool and airy aromas of violets, earth and red and dark berries along with a hint of the sauvage. The mid-palate impression is notably finer than it normally is though the usual size, weight, intensity and muscle are present in the big-bodied flavors that display a lovely bead of minerality on the firm finish where the more typical rusticity appears; indeed this is borderline chewy. I like both the complexity as well as the persistence though the firmness of the supporting structure confirms that this will require a 12 to 15 year snooze in a cool cellar to fully resolve.
