- Allen Meadows - DON'T MISS ! Vinified with 50% whole clusters. Here the nose is quite different from that of the Bèze as this is much more floral with notes of lavender, dried rose petal and cool red currant. There is superb detail to the almost painfully intense and pungently mineral-driven large-scaled flavors that possess a saline character on the refreshing yet quite serious finish that seems to go on and on. This isn't quite as complex as its stable mate though Chambertin is rarely as showy as a typical Clos de Bèze in its youth. For now I'll give the nod to the Bèze but that may not be the case when both of these are finally ready to go.
