- Allen Meadows - Noticeable wood that is not subtle fights somewhat with the otherwise spicy purple fruit and subtle mineral nuances that continue onto the rich, intense and impressively scaled and concentrated flavors that possess good focus. There is excellent phenolic ripeness to the structural elements and while this is a powerful wine, it is not a massive one. The mid-palate density is such that this should be able to successfully integrate the wood in time though I suspect that this will be on the woody side during its immediate youth.
