- Allen Meadows - There is a discreet but not invisible note of herbal tea to the aromas of blue berry, violet, tea, anise, clove, earth and a hint of underbrush. There is fine punch to the rich, full-bodied and still quite serious flavors that are supported by good levels of dry extract on the impressively long finish. This is not an especially big wine by the usual standards of the Roumier Bonnes Mares but I like the refinement and lovely sense of harmony. With that said, it would be fair to say that this is still in the process of shedding its moderately firm tannic spine and for my taste, I would suggest allowing it another 6 to 10 years of cellar time.
