Allen Meadows -The unusually open nose expresses itself with notes of oak, earth and quite deeply pitched scents of plum, cassis, wild berries, underbrush and a hint of the sauvage. There is plenty of muscle to the supple, round and admirably pure large-bodied flavors that possess very firm but relatively fine-grained tannins on the impressively persistent and powerful finish. This is a notably ripe wine in the context of the vintage and one that should also amply reward mid to longer-term cellaring.
